DR. LISA DUNNE

Chief Executive Officer

 

Dr. Lisa Dunne is an industry disruptor in the field of education. In addition to founding Chula Vista Christian University, she has launched 32 national K to 12 homeschool academies that are dedicated to rescuing the next generation from the toxic traits of traditional education. She is a dynamic, award-winning educator, author, and speaker with 25 years of classroom experience.

 

She holds a Ph.D. in human development from Fielding Graduate University, a Master's degree in communication studies from Regent University, a Master’s degree in human and organizational systems from Fielding Graduate University, and undergraduate degrees and minors in humanities, secondary education, and musical theater from Thomas Edison State College and Miami-Dade College.

CHICO JONES

Chief Academic Officer

 

Professor Chico Jones is a graduate of the US Air Force Academy and has an M.A. in Philosophy from Southern Evangelical Seminary. Professor Chico was a KC-10 Extender pilot in the US Air Force and flew in Operation Enduring Freedom. 

 

He and his wife Mariah have three children and live in San Clemente, where he and his family love to surf as much as possible. Professor Chico teaches CVCU's Algebra and Logic class, helping students unravel the mysteries of the ordered world of mathematics to discover practical, everyday applications of math in each career field.  

ADRIAN DUNNE
Chief Marketing Officer

 

Pastor Adrian Dunne has been in ministry for over 30 years, assuming roles as Associate Pastor at Mosaic Church in Sacramento, CA, and Senior Pastor of Artisan Church, in Roseville, CA. He currently serves as the music director for a large theater company in San Diego and as the music director and musician manager at Awaken Church, Eastlake Campus. 

 

He has an extensive background in the arts, advertising, and marketing. He holds a degree from the Guildhall School of Music and Theater, London, UK, and Wakefield College of Music, Wakefield, UK. He has produced music for various entertainment outlets such as Virgin Records and Country Music Television. Additionally, he owned and operated a full-service marketing company for over 20 years providing work for various organizations such as HeadStart Education Program, The American Cancer Society, and the California Redevelopment Association. Adrian also spent an additional five years as the senior marketing director for a California tech company before joining CVCU. 

ALEX CERVANTES

Chief Financial Officer

 

Alex brings a wealth of experience and a spirit of excellence to his work at CVCU. Alex has served as an accountant in Chula Vista for over 10 years. He is the owner of HDW Tax Services and is committed to supporting Chula Vistans with excellence in accounting and tax preparation.

 

Alex and his wife, Dulce, live in Chula Vista with their two GenZ daughters, Candy and Destiny, where they are active members of Awaken Church Eastlake. Alex is passionate about seeing marketplace professionals develop strong financial portfolios. 

JASON WHITE

Director of Athletics​

Professor Jason White is a dynamic, award-winning trainer, coach, and speaker with over a decade of performance breakthrough experience serving students, athletes, and entrepreneurs. He completed his undergraduate studies as a Dean’s List Student at the University of Iowa. During his time he would earn a Reggie Roby Special Teams Player of the Year Award playing football, 3 Bowl Championships, 3 Academic All Big-Ten Awards, and complete 2 degrees in 4 years.

 

Professor White completed his Master’s degree at Concordia-St. Paul where he was recognized as the All Purpose Yards Leader, and then earned a Ministry and Theology degree. In addition to teaching for CVCU, Professor White coaches middle and high school athletes to prepare for D-I and Jr. Olympic performance excellence.  

DEANNA GODINES

Executive Administrative Assistant

Deanna joins us with 20 years experience in the Christian school environment and has experience with homeschooling. Deanna passionately and excitingly served in  Children’s Ministry weekly for 20 years. She has been an art instructor, PE teacher, Christian school administrative assistant and substitute teacher. 

Deanna is married to her best friend, Gabriel and they have been sweethearts for 31 years.  Motherhood and raising their 4 (now adult) children has held the highest priority. In raising them she learned the importance of honoring each individual and how unique God has made each of us with gifts and talents all our own.

KYLE HERMANN

University Support Specialist

Kyle was born and raised in East County, where he was active in both extracurricular activities and  his home church, Skyline, all the way through college. Kyle graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from PLNU and went on to complete his Master's degree in Political Science at Liberty University. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. Kyle is passionate about learning from the past as well as leading others to do the same. As a senior in college, he ran for office, and he currently serves as secretary of the Valle de Oro Community Planning Group. As one of the youngest elected officials in San Diego County, Kyle hopes to inspire others to be civically engaged and to take steps to become courageous and just leaders in their realm of influence.
